Qi-Music in the West Midlands is mindful of the aim to attract and expand the numbers of those currently accessing quality arts and culture. It offers bespoke sustainable music programmes and tuition to complement existing provision in schools and communities.
The unique delivery with its combined arts, multi-sensory and cross curricular approach, nurtures children’s musicianship, self confidence and innate creativity. Young Leadership is identified and explored in partnertship with staff in each school. Projects are fun with a focus on social and team building skills. Children are encouraged to work together to personalise the material and wherever possible, to create their own. Ownership is the desired outcome.
Staff training is included in the delivery and teachers are encouraged to take part in the sessions. Confidence with vocal skills and new repertoire are explored.

TESTIMONIALS
Wider Opportunities Hereford Schools
Jasmin has worked us for the past 12 months. Over this time we have been exposed to music learning through Samba, the Ukulele and the Tin-Whistle. I have been amazed by the progress the children have made over this time. Jasmin has a unique approach to the teaching of music skilfully mixing visual, auditory and kinaesthetic approaches to ensure that all learners can effectively access the music curriculum. Over this time pupils have developed their rhythm, singing, understanding of reading musical notation, ability to play a variety of instruments but above all they have enjoyed the process. I would recommend this approach to learning music to anybody.

"Inspirational in vocal training and giving teachers confidence in their own ability to be music leaders. Jasmin is passionate and this enthusiasm is catching! We look forward to extending and improving our music teaching in conjunction with Jasmin’s leadership".......
"Excellent quality of learning, teaching, administration and materials"

Wider Opportunities Harps & Singing
"This is now our third year of Wider Opportunities and Jasmin and I have developed a really good working relationship with lots of paired teaching and sharing of ideas. The children and I look forward to our Thursday morning sessions! The teaching has continued to be a high quality. Pupils have responded well and the learning intentions have been successfully met. As differentiation has been by outcome, all children have been able to participate. The music teacher practiced regularly with an extension group in between visits for the many showcase performances within the school, cluster partnership and inspiring NE venues"..........

Staff Comments
....Joined in reluctantly but enjoyed it once we got going!! Thank you very useful.
....I will make a real effort to sing more and put new words to known tunes. Thank you – I had a fun time!
...Some useful ideas and did make me think I could have a go in the classroom
....I really enjoyed the activities much more than I thought although I am not really musical, I felt that I could take something away to use with the children. It was also a good opportunity to develop team skills in the group work
....Some lovely ideas to develop in the classroom, especially for a non-specialist!

Singing Playgrounds and Wider Opportunities
“ Musical activities have enriched our curriculum and raised our children’s self-esteem so that they can take a pride in their local heritage. They have also communicated with their wider community and schools overseas using playground singing games. Confidence in speaking and listening skills have improved dramatically throughout the school.”.........

Whole School Singing
"We are a large inner-city multi-cultural primary school with a unique richness of language and culture. Jasmin taught whole school singing for two years with great enthusiasm and the children looked forward to our sessions. We studied from an eclectic song repertoire including unaccompanied part songs. Many children performed in "Seriously at The Sage" event with Jasmin at The Sage Gateshead with excellent feedback. The weekly sessions always ended on a calm note and the children gained hugely from her extensive musical experience and high standard of performance"..............
